I tried to enter an instance and
am “locked out!” Why?
To reduce the chances of
repeating instances, upon completion or failure of an instance a player will not be permitted to re- enter until a certain amount of time has passed. This is a new concept in SWG, and can be very frustrating. Most of the time your lockout timer will reflect how far you were when you failed, completed or exited the instance. If you died or ejected near
133
the beginning you should have a relatively short lockout, however if you went all the way through and completed the instance the lockout will be much longer.

To get access to the cave, you will
need to craft an omniglobular syringe. The syringe is made by combining a warmly glowing reactive antidote, a warmly glowing poison gland and a warmly glowing dispersal unit in the Chu-Gon Dar cube. The syringe can be used an unlimited amount of times and is tradeable, which means you can also buy it if you have the credits and find a seller. It will, however, be very expensive.
Remember to protect your medics
at all times. They will be the lifeline of your group. If they go down, everyone goes down.
If you are going to lead the group,
study the maps or flowcharts to the instances beforehand and brief your group accordingly. The instances are specifically designed to challenge
132
Where is this Lava Crystal I’ve
been hearing about?
The antidote is looted from HK-47
at the end of the Champion of Mustafar questline. Start it by talking to Foreman Chivos.
The lava crystal is created by
combining a warmly glowing skull, a warmly glowing artifact and a warmly glowing engine component in the Chu-Gon Dar cube. The item is one of the most complicated in the game to create, since its parts come from the Sher Kar cave and the final quest in the HK-47 quest line. Please see section 5.9 for information on which mobs drop these components.
The poison gland is looted from
Malfosa, a level 80 Boss with 225K health. She spawns east of the Burning Plains POI marker, and her respawn is quite long.

group together to do the tougher
instances. What kind of
professions should I get and
what should I expect as a
leader?
All the members of your group
Very few of the instances can be
should be at least level 80 and know their profession well. They should also agree that they are going to follow the lead of the group leader and reserve chat and orders for only the leader or designated members. This is VERY important, as the last few instances need to have sub groups splitting up and tackling multiple objectives
done with less than a full group, so you should go ahead and try to assemble an 8 person team. Also, I can’t stress enough how much being organized will be. Because of this, try to pre select a team that is serious about getting through the trials together rather than shouting in a starport for a group. While either group may be successful, you have a better shot if you are all briefed.
131
simultaneously. Getting communications from the leader will be the only way to accomplish them.
you and your team. If you wait until a particular part to have to consult the guide or talk things over, you’ve waited too long.
Your team should have at the
What’s the Sker Kar Cave and
very least two tanks with good armor and buffs for damage mitigation, and two medics for healing and reviving. The rest of the group should be of various professions and should be good damage dealers. Your medics should be knowledgeable about how to keep as little aggro on themselves as possible.
how do I get inside?
The Sher Kar cave is at the end of
the cul-de-sac on Tulrus Isle up against the northern mountain range. It is a cave entrance that is covered by rocks and not accessible by normal means.

ship is brutal! Is the item really
worth it?
How efficient will I be trying to
solo a majority of the quests?
On this one, it’s really a matter of
choice and bragging rights. The instances in the quest line all reward you with badges when completing them. As for the 2400, it is not any better than the other POB ships in the game, and even worse it cannot be traded or sold so you will be stuck with it. In addition, to pilot it you must be an Ace, so you will have had to flown extensively in space to use it for yourself.
Luckily many of the quests can be
done solo if you are careful about how you pull your aggro. You should be able to solo all quests that do not require killing a mob that is higher than a level 80 Boss. There are quests and mobs that you absolutely must have a group to have a chance. The only instance that can be soloed is the Lair of the Crystal, and only because it was designed as a solo encounter.
That being said, the quest line,
while difficult, is a fun experience that you would be missing out on if you didn’t at least give it a shot. A few of the scenarios truly seem epic and
130
As with any task where you
Many configurations of different
compare solo vs. group, you can expect to be far more successful and efficient with even a couple more players in your team than you will be solo.
professions will work, as all classes have pretty much the same special abilities. Regardless, you definitely want to have the following specifics:
A group leader that can type
I’m going to attempt to get a
fairly quickly in chat and who is willing to take responsibility for calling the shots (when to move, retreat, or enter an instance)

anything with him will end there. If you want to take his quest line and interact with him further, you will need to do all 9 quests.
I’m not a Jedi, can I still
I did all the required quests and
interact with Obi Wan?
still no Obi Wan. What’s wrong?
Yes! Obi Wan is seeking anyone of
The time it takes for Obi Wan to
any profession to help him with his tasks. You do not have to be a Jedi to see him, interact with him or take his quests.
appear to you after you complete the pre-requisites can be anywhere from 1 hour to 3 days. Some of those who did not want to wait have reported that the holocron on the Shore of Remorse will not work for them even if they should be able to spawn him from it. If you have been waiting for longer than 3 days you may be experiencing a bug that unfortunately stops Obi Wan from appearing to players no matter the circumstance. Until fixed, the only way to work around this bug is to have another player spawn Obi Wan and then talk to him. If you have this bug you will have to do the workaround everytime you need to talk to him. Don’t be shy, this will in no
Is there any way for me to see
Obi Wan without doing the nine
necessary pre-requisite quests?
Not if you are by yourself.
However, you may be able to get a chance to see him if he spawns for someone else. If you attempt to converse with him while someone else is talking with him, he will simply tell you you’re not the one he seeks. Unfortunately, your ability to do
129
way “hijack” or interfere with the quest of the person who spawned him. If you are in need of the spirit and you see him spawned jump right in.
immersive. In addition to the 2400 there is always the possibility to loot the most rare items in the game, especially from HK-47. His quest is the toughest quest in the game to complete and you will be well rewarded for it.
The quest line for the YT-2400
